We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications & Marketing Officer to support the development and delivery of the organisation’s Communications Strategy by producing high-quality, audience-focused communications across multiple channels that engage colleagues and key stakeholders and contribute to the delivery of the Inspiring Saffron Strategy.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to the development and support the delivery of the organisation’s Communications Strategy through effective multi-channel communications activity aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Lead the application and development of Saffron’s brand and tone of voice, ensuring consistent use across all communications.
  • Manage and maintain the Saffron website, working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure content is accurate, accessible, up to date, and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver communications across internal and external channels including Viva Engage, MS Teams, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, supporting engagement and understanding.
  • Lead engagement activity for key organisational initiatives, including surveys, workshops, and focus groups, working with subject matter experts to support their objectives through effective communication.
  • Produce high-quality written, digital, and creative content including graphics, posters, and short-form video, using in-house tools and managing third-party suppliers where required, to include the CEO podcast.
  • Lead communications and engagement activity for internal events, including colleague events, conferences, and development launches.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Educations and Qualifications:

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent professional experience (E)
  • Relevant qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience (D)
  • Evidence of continued professional development in communications, digital engagement, or related areas (D)

Experience:

  • Working in a marketing and communications role, with responsibility for delivering effective multi-channel communications (E)
  • Working in the housing sector or a similarly complex, regulated environment (E)
  • Developing and delivering content across a range of channels, platforms, and software to meet different audience needs (E)
  • Contributing to the development of communications strategy and translating strategic priorities into practical communications plans and activity (E)
  • Managing communications activity involving a broad range of internal and external stakeholders with differing needs and expectations (E)
  • Producing digital and creative content, including use of design, photo, and video editing tools including Adobe (E)
  • Managing communications budgets or delegated spend, including planning, monitoring, and value-for-money decision making (D)
  • Supporting internal communications and colleague engagement activity such as surveys, workshops, or focus groups (D)
  • Using insight, data, or evaluation to improve communications effectiveness (D)

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ability to operate with confidence and credibility, demonstrating sound professional judgement and an understanding of reputational risk (E)
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write in a range of styles and tailor messaging to different audiences in line with an agreed tone of voice (E)
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences (E)
  • Strong digital and social media capability, with an understanding of how different platforms are used to support engagement and organisational objectives (E)
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple projects and deadlines (E)
  • Ability to identify and manage communications risks and escalate where appropriate (E)
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams (E)

We are a housing association based in Norfolk providing quality homes and services to people across the county and in Suffolk.

We manage over 6,000 homes including affordable homes for those in housing need who cannot afford to rent or buy in the open market.

We offer specialist homes for older and vulnerable adults and are committed to providing new homes to help solve the housing crisis.
