This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
30 hours per week will also be considered.

We are currently recruiting for an Income Officer to join our team. This role works as part of a Team to ensure the effective collection of rental income due and the control and recovery of arrears accrued.


Key responsibilities include

 

  • Will have responsibility for rent arrears control and recovery, including service of Notice of Seeking Possession.

 

  • Will have responsibility to use Possession Claims on Line to make possession / warrant applications. To represent Saffron at the County Court in making possession applications and defending stay applications. Attending Evictions.

 

  • Responsibility for managing accounts where Universal Credit / Housing Benefit is in payment. Accessing the Universal Credit Landlord Portal to verify Universal Credit Claims.

 

  • Assist customers in making claims for Universal Credit where this is necessary. Ensure tenants are provided with, or appropriately signposted to welfare and/or income maximization advice.

 

  • Ensure targets are met, and where possible bettered. Including increasing welfare benefit entitlements and benefit backdates.

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working within Income Recovery team or a similar customer focused environment.

 

  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection of business information.

 

  • Possess excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with various audiences both in writing and verbally.

 

  • Excellent time management skills, including an ability to prioritise workload and meet targets. Able to work as part of a team and also able to work independently without the need of close supervision.

 

  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability analyse data effectively.

We are a housing association based in Norfolk providing quality homes and services to people across the county and in Suffolk.

We manage over 6,000 homes including affordable homes for those in housing need who cannot afford to rent or buy in the open market.

We offer specialist homes for older and vulnerable adults and are committed to providing new homes to help solve the housing crisis.
